Barrow Three Horseshoes Golf Society

Nice start to 2010 at Thetford (apart from the temporary greens!!). Well done to Gary W for winning (on a countback). Although the original countback was with Tom W, after checking ALL of the cards I found several mistakes and the actual countback was with John. See the results page for revised scores.

We now have 2 nearest the pin competitions (after dropping longest drive) but with the temporary greens being quite small it was only Jeremy that managed to land on either of them.

Can I ask all players to make some sort of mark on the card for shots given to the player they are marking before they commence play. That way it reminds you while you are marking as you go round. Most of the errors were on cards without any of these marks/reminders. Thanks chaps and see you at Fynn Valley.

Welcome to the website of The Three Horseshoes Golf Society.

We are an established friendly society based at The Three Horseshoes pub in Barrow in Suffolk.

The society organises nine golf days per year on the first Friday of the month from March to November at various courses in East Anglia. Have a look at our current fixtures list.

We have members of all ages and standards ranging from single figure handicaps to beginners. Nobody feels out of place or embarrassed at their standard of golf as our aim is to have a day’s golf with a few laughs thrown in at everyone's expense. You can keep an eye on our (or your) progress on the results page.

The annual membership fee is £20, which aids the general running of the society and is largely refunded by way of a subsidised dinner at the pub for members and partners at the end of the year. We welcome guest members for a fee of £5.

The typical golf day consists of coffee and a bacon roll on arrival, 18 holes Stableford format, lunch and a wrap-up with prize giving (optional 9 holes in the afternoon). The cost is usually about £35 - £40 for the day.

We are always on the look-out for new members and would welcome you to the society. Please click here for further information about joining the society or see Bruce, our landlord, at the pub.
