Barrow Three Horseshoes Golf Society

Well, Stowmarket was closed due to the rain so we swiftly moved over to Bury St Edmunds which presented us with an immaculate course.

Well done to Paul for winning with 29 points. A close second was our newest member Tony. There were no prizes for nearest the pin etc due to organisational restrictions! But we were given a blank scorecard each to fill in our own name and handicaps.

Gary has now taken over the handicap system so if you do have any questions, please ask him in the first place.

Welcome to the website of The Three Horseshoes Golf Society.

We are an established friendly society based at The Three Horseshoes pub in Barrow in Suffolk.

The society organises nine golf days per year on the first Friday of the month from March to November at various courses in East Anglia. Have a look at our current fixtures list.

We have members of all ages and standards ranging from single figure handicaps to beginners. Nobody feels out of place or embarrassed at their standard of golf as our aim is to have a day’s golf with a few laughs thrown in at everyone's expense. You can keep an eye on our (or your) progress on the results page.

The annual membership fee is £20, which aids the general running of the society and is largely refunded by way of a subsidised dinner at the pub for members and partners at the end of the year. We welcome guest members for a fee of £5.

The typical golf day consists of coffee and a bacon roll on arrival, 18 holes Stableford format, lunch and a wrap-up with prize giving (optional 9 holes in the afternoon). The cost is usually about £35 - £40 for the day.

We are always on the look-out for new members and would welcome you to the society. Please click here for further information about joining the society or see our landlord, at the pub.
